Alexander is an extraordinary photographic artist and performer. Every creative interaction with him always leads to new discoveries, and our photo session was no exception. It turned into a kind of photographic journey, resulting in striking characters that seemed to come from the Middle Ages, from other cultures — or perhaps even from other worlds. Two of the images also became cover art for my music singles, which makes the experience especially meaningful. Thank you!

The photo session with Alexander not only unlocked a powerful flow of feminine energy within me, but also motivated, inspired, and triggered a deep process of self-reflection. I realized that it is truly possible to tune into yourself and fully experience and live the moment you are currently in.

I was introduced to @aliv_fote who is an amazing multi-talented artist. His studio was filled with beautiful photographs that I think everyone should see in galleries all over the world. I have previously only been photographed by my husband and the experience that I got in Alexander's studio was a unique one. Sitting in front of someone pointing a camera at you is quite intimidating and vulnerable but I feel like after this session with him, I healed my inner child. Beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder.
Thank you for taking the time to photograph me.

Thank you so much for this fascinating experience — it was actually my very first photo shoot ever, especially in such an image. Honestly, I needed this to gain confidence and better understand myself.

Alexander Ivashkevich’s photographs seem to us like old paintings, portraits of ladies who lived long before our time. The impression is underlined by high-quality, historical frames that are finely tuned to the respective motif.
Alexander Ivashkevich shows the effect of his works through a skilful, digital adaptation and immerses the viewer in a romantic, “healthy” world of the past.

These photographic works are a hymn to love, a hymn to woman — a mystery, a sacred ritual.
He is a true master of photography, using a rich variety of lighting, subtle tones, and carefully chosen, beautiful angles.
It's clear that this is his unique art — unmistakable and inimitable.
Today, we all take pictures, we all post them online. But the way Alexander sees the world — I have never encountered an artist like him before.

At the heart of Art City Bologna 2024, I had the pleasure and responsibility of curating the group exhibition WORDCATCHING, a project designed to explore the resonance between words, images, and visual silence. I personally selected Alexander Ivashkevich, confident that his work would add depth and distinction to the entire show, and indeed, his contribution of six photographic pieces proved to be one of the exhibition’s most striking highlights. Light on his photoworks is treated with surgical precision, skin and fabric are rendered with almost obsessive care, and the compositions echo the great tradition of European portraiture. Despite this painterly influence, the works remain undeniably photographic anchored in the present, technically sharp, and conceptually grounded. There is a clear mastery of the medium, along with a desire to stretch its expressive limits. Equally compelling is Ivashkevich’s relationship with his subjects. The women in his photographs are never objectified or ornamental. They are present, self-contained, often captured from behind or with lowered gazes. His approach is intimate and respectful, allowing a quiet strength and vulnerability to emerge. There is no forced narrative every pose, every gesture feels deliberate, measured, and loaded with a silent tension that invites reflection rather than explanation.
An essential aspect of his work lies in the elaborate gold-accented frames that enclose each image. These are not decorative afterthoughts, they are integral to the experience. Each piece asserts itself not just through content, but through its physical, sculptural presence in the space. Viewers lingered before his pieces, drawn into an aesthetic that feels both historic and modern, rigorous and emotionally alive. His presence significantly raised the overall quality of the exhibition. As the curator, I can say that including his work was among the most rewarding decisions of this project. With Alexander Ivashkevich, photography becomes not just a medium of representation, but a space for time, thought, and presence.

As the gallery director and organizer of the exhibition, I would like to say that working with Alexander Ivashkevich was a truly inspiring experience. His solo exhibition resonated deeply with the public — we received numerous enthusiastic responses from our guests. Many were genuinely moved by the depth, sensitivity, and aesthetic power of the works on display, and felt inspired by their personal encounters with Alexander at the vernissage.
Alexander’s photographs are not only technically accomplished — they convey a profound sincerity, a delicate understanding of human nature, and a deep respect for the art of the past. His style, influenced by the great masters, speaks to today’s audience, evoking emotion and reflection.
It was an honor for us to present the work of such a multifaceted artist — actor, dancer, choreographer, and fine art photographer. We are grateful for this experience and look forward to future collaborations!
